Is WA still in BETA?

Just wondering why I can't invite friends or allies. Or collect bonuses or trade collectables. And why are there so few players? Seems like a fun game but like in a ghost town. Won't keep my attention much longer if this is all it is. Linear games usually get boring pretty quick.

What does exactly happen when you try to invite friends or collect something? And no, the game is not in Beta, all these functions worked and should work perfectly. Thanks.
