Defense boosts

Hi Admins and devs.

Is there any way turning the defense boosts into SMART defense boosts (used only when needed and defense item strength should be dependent on attacker strength ?)

e.g. if I need an additional 100 def. to win there is no need in using a lion skin.. game should auto pick armor piercing instead!

I just hate it when I see my high value boosts being wasted when attacked by players I can beat without having to use them.
