Your MILITARY, (or why am I getting myself killed repeatedly, (I'm level 100 and should be kicking arse), because I know I bought three privates, an airborne infantry, and have three jeeps...)
Ok, I just found this question and answer in another thread and decided to add it to this section.
Derrinkuyu: Best Equipment
I'm sorry for possible repetitiveness, but does the game have a list of equipment based on their attack and/or defense value, and where can I link to it?
Iron Nuts: Yes, that would be in the inventory section, where it tells you attack pts., defense pts. and how much that item costs. Otherwise to see over all points you can look in you profile which will show total attack and defense points for your total Items, the only other way too see pts. is to look at the details of battles. When you attack the detail section shows all of you attack pts. and when someone attacks you it will show all of you defense pts.
Ok folks. Your army. Really? Is it that hard?
Every three mission levels are in a tier. Each tier has it's own types of Infantry, (and gear), Ground, Air, and Naval units. Now, you can, if you're cheap, only purchase the units needed for the missions, but you are short changing yourself. Look at your "Battle" screen, on the right hand side where it says, "Battle Units". This is the number of each type of units you can take into battle, and the bar graph shows how many you ACTUALLY have.
If the bar doesn't go to the end, you're short on units. That's STUPID. It's like saying, I'm going to play baseball, but I only want a third baseman, a catcher, and one outfielder.
ANYTHING to fill that gap is SOMETHING. SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING.
Even if you can only afford Privates, (infantry), with basic cheap gear, do it. Gifted items often are great for filling in those blank gaps. You see, if you don't fill those gaps in your military, you're shorting yourself attack and defense points.
Look at those units in the "Inventory Section". Each has an Attack strength and a Defense Strength. Purchase the best of each tier in large enough numbers to fill your military, (for both the STRONGEST Attack strength unit and Defense Strength unit). Do not forget to equip your infantry with gear either, (both Attack and Defense).
When you battle, your BEST units go into battle. If you are attacking, your strongest attack units, (i.e. have the biggest attack strength/number), go to battle, (look at the details of what battled and you'll see what is going where).
If you are defending, your best defense units will always go first and get used.
This game does not randomly pick units from your military. It chooses the strongest for the battle, (either attacking or defending). So look at those units in the Inventory section, find the best for your tier, and buy them in numbers to fill your battle numbers for each field of the military, (Infantry & gear, Ground, Air, and Naval).
If you can't afford the units in your tier, then buy good ones from the mission tier below you, (as they are cheaper and you have the full range of everything in that tier.)
DO NOT SELL OFF OLD/LOWER TIERED UNITS. You will need them when fighting off opponents or attacking sanctioned opponents. If you sell them off and have nothing from that tier, then you only fight with gifted units or specialty units. Remember, when battling another player, (i.e. attacking them), you always fight with what ever tier of units for the level THEY ARE CURRENTLY AT.
As said before, gifts are great for filling in gaps. Also, when you are first starting out, the gifted units are way better than anything you can buy for many levels, so load up on allies and gifts.
Also, when you start getting access to a new tier, just don't buy the first units available. Remember, they open up as you level up. The best units are not always available at first. Many are not available until you top that tier out.
Here is an example of my military when I was around level 100, (give or take a few levels):
Attack Military:
400 Intervention Units, (Att: 16), with 400 Gas Bomb Droppers, (Att: 25), (total per unit is Att: 41)
354 Heavy Guns, (Att: 39)
325 Desert Eagles, (Att: 33)
250 Long Range Missile Submarines, (Att: 32)
Defensive Military:
400 Escort Squads, (Def: 13), equipped with 400 Binoculars, (Def: 24), for a combined defense of 37/unit
400 BTR-90's, (Def: 28)
350 Sentinal 1's, (Def: 34)
200 Air Craft Carriers, (Def: 30)
As you can see, I had enough of the best in each type of military, (infantry, ground, air, and naval), for both attacking people and defending from attacks. I left leeway for gifts and specialty units sometimes, but always, always, if possible, tried to fill my roster with the purchased units and figured the specialty/gifted items were just a bonus to keep me safe.
My best of luck to you who need help figuring out units. Get a good base. Without it you can purchase little.
